The 2024 World Juniors are here, as Gothenburg, Sweden is the site of this year's IIHF U20 competition. Ten teams are battling for the right to be crowned world champions at the U20 level.

USA is coming off a bronze medal finish in 2023, defeating Sweden in overtime last year to finish in third. The Americans only lost one game at the tournament, however, it came against Canada in the semifinals, leaving the Americans to play for the bronze.

The United States enter the 2024 tournament as the favorite to win gold, with a deep squad that includes first-round picks Cutter Gauthier (Flyers), Jimmy Snuggerud (Blues), Rutger McGroarty (Jets) and Will Smith (Sharks).

The last time the USA took home gold was in 2021. Is this the year the Americans get back on top?

The Sporting News has everything American fans need to know to watch the 2024 World Juniors.
