The Australian Open, one of the nation's top golf tournaments, has arrived.

Sydney is hosting the 2023 event, with action taking place across two different courses.

Some of the nation's best male and female golfers — including Cameron Smith, Adam Scott and siblings Minjee and Min Woo Lee — are headlining the four-day competition.

When is the Australian Open 2023? Dates for golf tournament

This year's edition of the Australian Open is taking place between Thursday, November 30 and Sunday, December 3.

Where is the Australian Open held?

In 2023, the Australian Open is being held at two venues — The Australian Golf Club and The Lakes Golf Club.

Both courses are located in Sydney, New South Wales.

Men and women are playing in alternating groups at both courses over the first two days before the action takes place exclusively at The Australian Golf Club for the final two days.

How to watch the Australian Open: TV, streaming

All four days of the Australian Open 2023 are being broadcast live on the Nine Network (check your local guides for the specific channel) and Fox Sports.

The action is also being streamed on 9Now and Kayo Sports.

The broadcast schedule is as follows (all times AEDT):

  • Thursday, Nov 30: 12:00 pm - 5.00 pm
  • Friday, Dec 1: 12:00 pm - 5.00 pm
  • Saturday, Dec 2: 2:00 pm - 7.00 pm
  • Sunday, Dec 3: 1:00 pm - 6.00 pm 

Australian Open entry list

A total of 240 players (156 men and 84 women) are competing in this year's event.

Cameron Smith headlines the Australian player pool, which also includes notable golfers such as Adam Scott, Min Woo Lee and Minjee Lee.

Poland's Adrian Meronk is the reigning men's champion, while South Africa's Ashleigh Buhai holds the women's title.

Tee times and groupings for Round 2 have been released and can be accessed here.

Both the men's and women's events are played over 72 holes, with cuts after 36 holes.

Australian Open purse, prize money

A minimum total of AU$3.4 million of prize money is on offer at this year's tournament, smashing last year's AU$2 million purse.

Australian Open tickets

Tickets are available for the remaining three days, with general admission and premium options on offer.

Children and students aged 17 and under will be admitted for free during the event.
