Milan Lucic arrest news, updates

WCBV 5 reported on Sunday Lucic was facing charges for assault and battery on a family member.

On Monday, he appeared in court and was released on personal recognizance with the condition that he refrains from drinking alcohol. He alos must refrain from abusing the alleged victim.

Lucic pleaded not guilty to the assault and battery charge and has a pre-trial hearing set for January 19.

On Saturday, WCVB 5 described Lucic's as "following a domestic incident," and the team said he would be taking an "indefinite leave of absence from the team."

Before Saturday's game against the Canadiens, Bruins captain Brad Marchand said he was aware of Lucic's situation, but also did not provide specifics, instead sending his support toward Lucic's family and Lucic.

"We're obviously aware of what happened last night with Luc. The biggest thing for us is we care a lot about their family. We're a family in here. We're all very, very close, so we're also very concerned and upset for them and what they're going through," Marchand said. "We have a lot of support for [Lucic's wife] Brittany and the kids and for Luc himself. And because out of respect for them, that's going to be it for now.

"We don't really know a lot of details, we don't know a whole lot of what's happened, what's gone on so it's very hard to comment on much of it. But obviously I've know Luc for a long time, he's a very good friend and it's tough to see your teammates and your friends going through stuff like this and their families so definitely worried about Brit and the kids and Luc himself, but they have all the support in the world, anything they need we're going to be here for them and until we know more it's tough to comment much on it."
