India are geared up for the AFC Asian Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in Doha from January 12 to February 12. This marks India's second consecutive participation in the continental competition after the 2019 edition.

The squad, guided by coach Igor Stimac, has been drawn into Group B alongside Australia, Uzbekistan, and Syria for the group-stage matches.
Despite fan expectations, Stimac has urged caution due to limited training time.
"Let's stop talking about the Asian Cup. We did not get what we wanted. I was very clear, you give me time and I might provide results for you. Without the time, do not ask about the results or anything like that. Just forget it," Stimac said bluntly.
However, the coach has selected a formidable squad for the competition, featuring key players such as Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, and Sandesh Jhingan.
India's journey in Group B kicks off against Australia on January 13 at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan, followed by a clash with Uzbekistan on January 18 at the same venue. The team concludes the group stage at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, facing Syria on January 23.
This tournament marks India's fifth appearance in the AFC Asian Cup after participating in 1964, 1984, 2011, and 2019. Despite reaching the runner-up position in 1964, India has struggled to progress beyond the group stages in subsequent editions.
