Late Monday night in the US, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news that James Harden was officially on the move in a trade to the LA Clippers.

Harden, along with P.J. Tucker will head to Los Angeles in a deal for Marcus Morris Sr., Nicolas Batum, Robert Covington, Kenyon Martin Jr. and multiple draft picks.

With his relationship with the Philadelphia 76ers front office deteriorating, Harden was in search of a move to a new team and will now get his wish, joining an already contending team in his hometown Los Angeles.

Harden teams up with his former running mate Russell Westbrook, as well as Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, forming arguably the best four-man lineup in the NBA, with the Clippers' hopes of a championship receiving a huge boost.

The Clippers entered the season with the eighth-best odds to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy, but with Harden now on deck, they've moved up to fifth, with only the Suns, Nuggets, Bucks and Celtics holding better odds.

“The Clippers were $26 on October 27 and are into $13 now,” said Dave Bauk, TAB Senior trader and podcast host of Trash Talk with DBauk.

“Although rumours around James Harden persisted throughout the offseason, the movements of the odds suggested the likelihood of a trade to the Clippers fluctuated.

"The Clippers were $21 a few days ago when Harden didn’t suit up for Philly. Then finally, when the trade was made, they were quickly wound into $17 before an enormous plunge saw them shorten into $11.”

The day following the announcement of the trade, the Clippers now hold 11.5 percent of all championship bets and are the fifth-most supported team among punters to take out the title.

Now sitting at $13, the Clippers hold the same odds as the Golden State Warriors, but according to Bauk, if Harden hits the ground running in LA, that number could shift significantly.
