William Byron has to be coming into Sunday's race feeling a little bit comfortable.

Byron has never reached the Championship Four of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, but as the Round of Eight begins on Sunday in Las Vegas, he finds himself atop the points standings at 4,041, 20 points ahead of the cut line. He also finds himself heading to a track in which he has found plenty of success.

Back on March 5, Byron won the Pennzoil 400, leading the race for 176 laps and winning each of the stages. And his success in Las Vegas is nothing new. He has finished in the top eight three of his past five trips to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Byron will have to contend with two other veteran drivers, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin, who each have experience winning the South Point 400, Las Vegas' playoff race, and are looking to further boost their chances of reaching Phoenix as one of the top four drivers.
