After Jake Paul lost against Tommy Fury, he returned to face another MMA fighter in a boxing ring. Now “The Problem Child” looks to be ranked, as he faces a legitimate boxer in Andre August at the Caribe Royale in Florida on December 15. The bout, plus undercard action, will air on DAZN worldwide.

A YouTuber, Paul is 7-1 in the boxing ring, beating AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz.

Following multiple attempts to face Tommy Fury, the pair finally clashed in Saudi Arabia. Paul knocked him down in the final round, but Fury claimed a split decision victory, which earned him a ranking.

Many expected Paul to stop competing, but he returned against Diaz, who used his cardio to provide a stiff challenge before being outpointed.

If Paul can beat August, who is the No. 45 rated cruiserweight in the U.S. according to BoxRec, he will win bragging rights and ascend the rankings.

“I’m a professional boxer, and I want to be world champion, so I need to pursue the path towards greatness against people who have been boxing their whole life,” said Paul.

So far, my entire boxing career has been on pay-per-view, but now it’s about more than business. Now, I want to build my experience in the ring against seasoned fighters. I’m coming to prove my greatness on Friday, December 15, live on DAZN for the world to see.”

August turned pro in 2013. The 35-year-old has won five straight after suffering his first defeat. He last competed in August, beating Brandon Martin in what was his first fight in over almost four years.

“I don't talk very much. I’m all about that action! Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team, and the resources, but he doesn’t have my hunger,” said August. “When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.”

The co-main event sees Shadasia Green vs. Franchon Crews-Dezurn for the WBC super middleweight title.

Signed by Most Valuable Promotions, Green turned pro in 2019. "The Sweet Terminator" beat former champion Elin Cederroos in February and last fought in August, when she defeated Olivia Curry.

Crews-Dezurn turned pro in 2016 and lost to Claressa Shields in her debut. In 2022, she edged Cederroos to become the undisputed super middleweight champion but lost the title in her last fight against Savannah Marshall in July.
