The drivers and teams arrive in the Middle East this weekend as Formula One finishes its 2023 season with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Due to his stunning form this calendar year and his win in Las Vegas last time out, Max Verstappen once again enters as the heavy bookmakers' favourite but given the fact that he was pushed all the way in Nevada, value can be found elsewhere.

It was Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who finished P2 eventually in Sin City, overtaking Sergio Perez on the final lap of the race to finish only behind Verstappen and he could again challenge here.

Despite not winning a race this season, Leclerc has found much stronger form to end this year and has even snatched away pole position from Verstappen in three of the last four qualifying sessions.

Unfortunately, he's yet to make that ultimately count on race day, just like a number of other drivers as only Verstappen, Perez and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz have actually taken the chequered flag so far this season.

But with plenty left to play for in both the final drivers' and constructors' championship standings, expect plenty of drama this time around in Abu Dhabi up and down the field.

Ahead of the action, The Sporting News dives through all of the odds to give you the best bets and tips for the upcoming race.

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023: Best bet

  • Pick: Lando Norris to finish on the podium
  • Odds: -125 (DraftKings)

Despite crashing out of last weekend's Las Vegas Grand Prix in dramatic fashion, we're tipping Lando Norris to bounce back here and claim a top three finish on Sunday in Abu Dhabi.

His McLaren car should very much suit this circuit substantially more than last week's in Nevada, and given his return of seven podium finishes this season, he seems primed to challenge again here even despite last weekend's error.

Last Sunday's outcome was the British driver's first DNF of the year as he's put together some strong form after his team really struggled over the first few races. His teammate Oscar Piastri has also driven well of late to further highlight just how solid the constructor's upgrades have proven.

There's also the added incentive of claiming P4 in the final drivers' standings in the process here which would represent Norris' best ever finish in an F1 season. He starts this final race just five points shy of Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso and will be desperate to overtake the Spanish pair with a strong performance on Sunday.

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023: Prop bet

  • Pick: Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon both to score points
  • Odds: +300 (DraftKings)

It proved to be a race of very contrasting fortunes for Alpine duo Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon in Las Vegas last time out.

Whilst Gasly fell down the pack, eventually finishing P11 and outside the points despite starting P4 on the grid, Ocon did the complete opposite and put in arguably his best performance of the season to finish P4 even though he began the race all the way back in P16.

The latter's performance again highlights the pace that this Alpine car has but it's the reliability that has caused struggles throughout the season. That means that the team arrive in the Middle East not fully knowing where the performance will be but both drivers showed last week in differing formats that this car can be competitive and easily finish in the top ten.

Additionally, Gasly had taken four points finishes across the last seven races, whilst Ocon has taken five in his last six attempts. Both have also finished on the podium once each this season so at +300 with DraftKings, there's plenty of value to be had with this selection here.

F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023: Flier bet

  • Pick: Sergio Perez to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
  • Odds: +1600 (DraftKings)

Alright, so rightly so, Max Verstappen is the overwhelming favourite to win this race but for a flier pick during this final Grand Prix, we're going to take his teammate to win instead.

Granted, given the Mexican driver's poor form over the midseason running, that's an unlikely outcome but the last two races have seen him come much closer to the top order which has resulted in P3 and P4 finishes in Las Vegas and Brazil respectively.

In the process he's seemingly regained a bit of his aggression as seen with key battles against Alonso and Leclerc and with the track in Abu Dhabi suiting this Red Bull car, we feel that at +1600 to win the Grand Prix, this selection represents a reasonable punt.

It also has to be remembered that Perez has twice won races this season, plus an F1 Sprint event along the way and remains one of the sport's most experienced drivers which could aid his push here.
