The final major horse racing event of the year is here. The Breeders' Cup takes place Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California.

Fourteen winners will be crowned over two days, with prize money totaling $31 million.

The event's biggest race, the Breeders' Cup Classic, will be one of the final races on Saturday, with $6 million, the biggest purse of the weekend, awarded to the victor.

When is the Breeders' Cup Classic?

  • Date: Saturday, Nov. 5
  • Post times: 6:40 p.m. ET

The Breeders' Cup Classic will begin Saturday, Nov. 4, at 6:40 p.m. ET. It will be the seventh of nine races that day, with five more taking place on Friday, Nov. 3.

Day one begins at 5 p.m. ET, and day two, championship Saturday, begins at 2:30 p.m. ET.

How to watch the Breeders' Cup

  • TV channels: NBC, USA Network
  • Live stream: Peacock, Fubo

Coverage begins Friday with USA Network covering the races from 4 p.m. ET to 8 p.m. ET.

On Saturday, USA Network begins its coverage of the Breeders' Cup at 1:30 p.m. ET. NBC takes over at 3:30 p.m. with Peacock streaming the final races beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

The event can be streamed on Peacock, and the portions airing on NBC and USA Network are available via Fubo, which offers a free trial.

Breeders' Cup purse

The Breeders' Cup purse is set at $31 million between Friday's and Saturday's races.

The Classic awards the winner with the most prize money, $6 million. The Turf, which races an hour prior to the Classic, has a purse of $4 million, the second-highest prize of the event.

All 14 races award prize money, and each winner earns at least $1,000,000.

Breeders' Cup Classic post positions and odds

Arcangelo, who had the second-best odds after wining the Belmont Stakes, has been scratched from the Breeders' Cup Classic due to ongoing foot issues. He will be retired next year.

Arabian Knight (3-1) still has the best chance to win it all. White Abarrio and Ushba Tesoro are next in line with 4-1 odds.The next contender, Bright Future (10-1), is a distance behind the top-three horses.
