ATP World Tour Finals 2023 prize money: How much winner earns, total prize pool for Italy tournament

The best eight male tennis players in the world descend on Italy for the curtain call event of the ATP Tour season.

The group stage of the ATP Finals gets under way on Sunday, November 12 and will feature a round robin format, with the tournament finishing on Sunday, November 19.

Carlos Alcaraz is appearing at the showpiece for the first time, while Novak Djokovic will finish the year as world number one if he wins a single match.

But what about the winner of the event and the total prize pot at stake?

The Sporting News explores how much prize money the winner will get, and the amounts all the other players will take home.

ATP Finals: How much prize money does the winner earn?

Players are awarded a base amount for playing in each match, with bonuses on offer if they win. The maximum a player can earn is $4,801,500 million (£3.9m) if they go undefeated at the finals en route to wining the singles title. 

In terms of the rest of the singles, players get a $325,500 (£266,000) participation fee, plus $390,000 (£319,000) for each win in the round robin stage. Players will net an extra $1.105m (£900,000) for winning in the semifinals, and a sum of $2.201m (£1.8m) is on offer for the player who wins the singles title.

In the doubles, each player gets a $132,000 (£108,000) participation fee, plus $95,000 (£78,000) for each round-robin win. If a doubles pair (or team) wins in the semifinals, they will get an extra $175,650 (£143,700) between them. Then it's $351,000 (£287,000) more for winning the final and $943,650 (£772,000) if they go undefeated.

The total prize pool at the ATP Finals is a whopping $15m (£12.3m), to be shared between the various singles and doubles players. So the event is a lucrative one, with those singles and doubles amounts above seriously stacking up for the successful players.
