As WWE prepares for huge events heading into WrestleMania 40 next year, the company will look to utilize the drawing power of John Cena for its Fastlane event on October 7. Fastlane takes place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana and airs on Peacock in the U.S. and the WWE Network outside it.

Last month, WWE stars attempted to gain “Payback” against their rivals. In October, there will be a continuation of old rivalries while new ones will form. At the center of it all will be the returning Cena, who is entering a WWE ring for the first time since the last WrestleMania, as he has once again caught the eye of The Bloodline.

On the first SmackDown of September, Cena interrupted a Jimmy Uso promo, ultimately giving him an Attitude Adjustment. Not long after, Jimmy and Solo Sikoa attacked Cena. AJ Styles saved his former adversary, and the two were supposed to team up to face Jimmy and Sikoa. However, Styles was attacked backstage and injured by them, forcing him out of the match. As of now, Cena faces The Bloodline in a 2-on-1 handicap bout.

Also on the card, after barely taking care of Shinsuke Namakura at Payback, Seth “Freakin’” Rollins once again defends the World Heavyweight Title against the Japanese star, this time in a Last Man Standing match.
