Mark Zahra has achieved two rare pieces of history on Tuesday afternoon, with the jockey on board Caulfield Cup and now Melbourne Cup winner Without A Fight.

After taking out the famous race last year with Gold Trip, Zahra switched rides and was vindicated in his decision as the six-year-old Freedman-trained runner charged to victory at Flemington.

The gelding became just the 12th horse in history to win the Cup double, while Zahra joined the likes of Glen Boss and Harry White in claiming a second-straight win in the race that stops the nation.

The Sporting News has all the details on Without A Fight's historical feat below.
