Team Europe is looking to defend home turf once again.

It's been 30 years since the Americans have won the Ryder Cup on European soil, the longest drought in the event's history, which dates back to 1937. This year's event provides a decent chance to break the streak.

While Zach Johnson's picks for the 2023 Ryder Cup squad caused some controversy, this year's squad features some of the best — and hottest — golfers in the sport. Scottie Scheffler is coming off a run for the ages in the 2023 PGA Tour season and is sure to anchor for this year's squad.

Elsewhere, eyes will be on the rookies: Wyndham Clark, Brian Harman, Max Homa and Sam Burns are all making their Ryder Cup debuts in Rome. Last time around, six rookies took the course, including Scheffler, which turned out to be an utter thrashing of the European team. Can this year's rooks match that feat?
