Tottenham coach Ange Postecoglou has blown up at journalist in the post-match press conference following the 1-0 win over Burnley in the FA Cup on Saturday morning (AEDT).

Without captain and talisman Son Heung-min, who is at the Asian Cup in Qatar, it took a Pedro Porro stunner to break the deadlock and send Spurs into the competition's fourth round.

Porro's strike continued Tottenham's record of scoring in every game managed by Postecoglou, who labelled his team 'wasteful' in a fiery post-match press conference.

Postecoglou slams journalist for questioning his 'integrity'

It's arguable Postecoglou's post-match press conference was more eventful than the actual match, with the Australian accusing a journalist of questioning his 'integrity'.

The incident occurred when a journalist brought up Eric Dier, who Postecoglou explained missed the Burnley game through injury, despite being linked with a January transfer to Bayern Munich.

When the journalist suggested that Dier's injury might not be real with a possible transfer away from Tottenham in the works, Postecoglou was scathing in his reply.

Here is the whole exchange:

Journalist: "Eric Dier is injured tonight, is that right?"

Postecoglou: "Yes, yeah he's injured."

Journalist: "What's the nature of the injury?"

Postecoglou: "He just pulled up sore and didn't train yesterday."

Journalist: "So there's nothing in the links to Bayern Munich, we understands there's an agreement..."

Postecoglou: "Separate issue mate but don't question my integrity. When I say he's injured, he's injured. He didn't train yesterday. I can get Vision [Spurs' training system footage] in for you, you can ask him. It's got nothing to do with anything else."

Journalist: "But is there..."

Postecoglou: "I've got no idea. When you ask me whether he's injured, he's injured. I didn't make that up. If he wasn't injured I'd say he wasn't selected. It's easy for me to say. He's injured and in terms of anything else that's happening, not on my radar. Not that I've heard of. If there is something I'm sure I'll hear of it, but fair to say in the last 24 hours we've been focusing on the game and the guys that are available."

Spurs progress in FA Cup despite missing two stars

It was a grinding win for Spurs, who appeared to lack fluency going forward in the absence of attacking leaders Son and the injured James Maddison.

A Richarlison scuff in the penalty box and Brennan Johnson's long-range effort were all Tottenham had to show for in the first half, despite having the majority of possession.

The second half was a similar story, with Johnson having an effort saved at the back post, before Porro's long-range strike earned Spurs' FA Cup progression.

Driving forward on the right wing, Porro cut inside before unleashing an arrow into the corner with impressive precision in the 78th minute.
