At one point, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder were on top of the boxing world. Both are former heavyweight champions who are ready to return to the top. Joshua beat Otto Wallin and Wilder lost to Joseph Parker on December 23 in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua is a former two-time unified heavyweight champion. The Brit is on a three-fight win streak after losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder previously fought in October 2022 when he knocked out Helenius in the first round. That was his first fight since completing a trilogy against Fury, who fought "The Bronze Bomber" to a draw before stopping him twice.

Joshua and Wilder signed to face off in March 2024, had they both won their fights. It is a match years in the making, as the two have been rumored to fight since around 2017 – and it could still happen despite Wilder's defeat.

The Sporting News looks into how much Joshua and Wilder could have made at the Day of Reckoning show, their purse history, as well as what they could make if they fight one another in 2024.
