Almost 5+ years ago, Dustin Poirier and Justin Gaethje faced off. At UFC 291, the two fight again, this time, for the BMF Title. The fight is guaranteed to be Fight of the Night, maybe even Fight of the Year.

UFC 291 airs on ESPN+ PPV in the U.S., emanating from Salt Lake City, Utah.

When they first fought, Gaethje landed several leg kicks, but Poirier got the last laugh by winning via TKO. Since then, both have gone 6-2, losing to the same two opponents, while winning multiple post-fight bonuses. How much can we take away from their first fight to now? Have both improved their striking and defense?

More importantly, where will the 34-year-old fighters rank following this bout? The winner expects to fight for the UFC lightweight title. The loser may need to face the reality of never fighting for gold again. A statement-making win could follow what could be a brutal classic.

How brutal? Per the fighters: “We’ll celebrate together in the hospital afterwards.”

The rest of the card features several huge bouts with fighters known for their violent nature. That includes Tony Ferguson, on a five-fight losing streak. The 39-year-old has talked about being a new man heading into his clash with Bobby Green.

What do Fight Disciples hosts Adam Catterall and Nick Peet think of Ferguson’s chances?

Catterall and Peet break down Ferguson’s fight, Poirier vs. Gaethje 2, and the rest of the card.
