Kooyong Classic 2024: Dates, field, players and how to watch Australian Open warm-up tournament

The Kooyong Classic returns once again to the outskirts of Melbourne with some of the world's best tennis players squaring off in a round-robin format.

Two top 10 players - Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune - have already committed, with many other talents set to confirm their participation in the coming weeks.

When is the Kooyong Classic 2024?

The 2024 edition of the Kooyong Classic will take place from Wednesday, January 10 to Friday, January 12.

This scheduling means that the tournament will finish two days before the start of the Australian Open 2024, which will begin on Sunday, January 14.

Where is the Kooyong Classic played?

The annual tournament is held at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club, located in the Melbourne suburb of Kooyong.

A 20-minute drive from the city's CBD, the main stadium has an approximate capacity of 5,000. 

The Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club underwent an $18 million redevelopment prior to the 2023 tournament.

Kooyong Classic 2024 players

Two top 10 stars have been announced as Kooyong Classic participants with Italy's Jannik Sinner (world no.4) and Denmark's Holger Rune (world no.6) both committing.

Three-time Grand Slam finalist Casper Ruud and tennis legend Andy Murray will be among the stars of the show.

US Open 2020 winner Dominic Thiem, two-time grand slam semi-finalist Karen Khachanov and rising Chinese star Zhizhen Zhang will also be a part of the field.

How to watch the Kooyong Classic 2024

Details on how to watch the Kooyong Classic on television are yet to be released.

However, Kooyong Classic 2023 was broadcast live on SBS and streamed via SBS On Demand between 11:00 am and 5:00 pm (AEDT) on each day of the event.
