NRL 2024: Every club's top 30 squad and development list for next season

Preparations are well and truly underway for the 2024 NRL season, with every club in the midst of their recruitment and retention drives for the next two years.

Penrith and Brisbane will both pay the price for their success, losing some key stars from their grand final lineups, while the likes of the Roosters and Bulldogs have added some important names. 

At this stage, almost every club has spots left in their roster for the upcoming campaign, with the likes of the Cowboys and Dragons still a long way from locking in their top 30 squads.

Broncos squad and contract news: Fletcher Baker and Jaiyden Hunt will join the club on two-year deals, while both Tom Flegler and Herbie Farnworth will head to the Dolphins. Tristan Sailor has been upgraded to the top squad, while back-rower Keenan Palasia has signed with the Titans on a multi-year contract. Ezra Mam and Adam Reynolds headline a list of Brisbane players who will come off-contract at the end of 2024. Kurt Capewell has been granted an early release from his contract to link up with the Warriors.

Raiders squad and contract news: Jarrod Croker has retired from the NRL after a lengthy career, while five-eighth Jack Wighton has moved to South Sydney on a bumper four-year deal. Chevy Stewart has been upgraded to the top 30 roster, while young gun Simi Sasagi has signed from the Knights for this year and Kaeo Weekes has joined from Manly. The club have also added a new Englishman to the ranks, with lock-forward Morgan Smithies joining the ranks on a three-year deal for 2024 and beyond. Brad Morkos and Harley Smith-Shields have both been granted an early release from their contract.

Bulldogs contract news: Canterbury have added a host of stars for next season, with the likes of Stephen Crichton, Bronson Xerri and Blake Taaffe adding depth and quality to the backline. Tevita Pangai Junior has retired from rugby league, while the likes of Jake Averillo, Luke Thompson and Kyle Flanagan have moved on from the club. Young gun Blake Wilson has inked a two-year extension and will move into the first grade squad, while versatile back-rower Josh Curran has signed a two-year deal after being granted a release from the Warriors. Canterbury have also added Drew Hutchison, Kurt Mann and Jake Turpin to their top 30 roster, while front-rower Poasa Faamausili has signed with the Bulldogs for two seasons on a supplementary deal.

Sharks squad and contract news: There has been very little changeover in the Cronulla roster for next season, with captain Wade Graham announcing his retirement and veteran playmaker Matt Moylan granted an early release along with Connor Tracey. However, they have signed Addin Fonua-Blake from 2025 onwards.

Titans squad and contract news: Keenan Palasia will join the club on a two-year deal, while Harley Smith-Shields has joined from Canberra. The side will welcome new coach Des Hasler into the fold, with captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui having signed a long-term extension at the club. Jacob Alick has signed a one-year extension after making his first-grade debut in 2023, while Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, Ryan Foran and Josiah Pahulu have been elevated into the top 30 squad. Treymain Spry has been granted an early release from his contract for next season.

Storm squad and contract news: Young gun Sua Fa'alogo has been promoted to the Storm's Top 30 for 2024. Elsewhere, there is a lack of change to the Melbourne roster for the upcoming campaign, with the likes of Tariq Sims and Tom Eisenhuth moving on. The club have re-signed Tepai Moeroa, Grant Anderson and Dean Ieremia on fresh one-year contracts to remain in Melbourne.

Knights squad and contract news: Plenty of changes to the Newcastle top 30 this season, with star winger Dom Young moving on, while English stars Will Pryce and Kai Pearce-Paul will join the club. Jed Cartwright and Jack Cogger also add depth in different roles, while Lachlan Fitzgibbon ends a lengthy tenure in the Hunter and has moved to the Super League along with Fa'amanu Brown. Tom Jenkins has signed with the club on a two-year deal from the Panthers.

Warriors squad and contract news: After a surprisingly impressive 2023 campaign, the club will welcome back favourite sons Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Chanel Harris-Tavita, adding immediate class and experience to the roster. Andrew Webster hasn't made too many other changes to his squad, with depth players Viliami Vailea and Bayley Sironen the only two confirmed departures. Josh Curran and Kurt Capewell have both been granted early releases from their previous clubs to join the club on multi-year agreements.

However, the additions of Paul Alamoti, Daine Laurie and Brad Schneier sure up some important areas for the powerhouse club.

Dragons squad and contract news: Incoming head coach Shane Flanagan has added four players to the Red V roster at this stage, with his son Kyle and front-rower Hame Sele joining the ranks. Tom Eisenhuth has also been signed to the top 30 squad, along with Corey Allan. However, the club have parted ways with young playmaker Jayden Sullivan, while prop Zane Musgrove has also been released. Meanwhile, Junior Amone's future with the Dragons is uncertain after his off-field indiscretion.

Roosters squad and contract news: Two major additions to the roster at Bondi, with prop Spencer Leniu and towering winger Dom Young both joining on long-term agreements. The club have lost some depth, with the likes of Jaxson Paulo, Paul Momirovski and Fletcher Baker all moving on, while a number of players remain unsigned. Connor Watson and Billy Smith have both signed extensions to remain at the Roosters.

Tigers squad and contract news: Benji Marshall has added a mix of experience and youth to his playmaking stocks, with the NRL return of Aidan Sezer complimenting the arrivals of Jayden Sullivan and Latu Fainu. After a tumultuous run at the club, Luke Brooks has moved to Manly for 2024 and beyond, while the club have also farewelled Daine Laurie and Tommy Talau. A number of players, including young hooker Tallyn Da Silva, have been upgraded to the club's top 30 roster, while both Triston Reilly and Brandon Webster-Manfield have been released. Charlie Staines has re-signed for a further two seasons. The Tigers have also landed towering outside back Solomon Alaimalo, a Kiwi rugby convert.
