Josh Allen is still without the first overtime victory of his career, though the Bills came painfully close when they faced the Eagles on Sunday.

So close, yet so far away has been the theme for the team at multiple points this season. That did not change in Week 12 as Buffalo fell 37-34 to Philadelphia in overtime.

Allen was 29-of-51 passing for 339 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. He also carried the ball nine times for 81 yards with two rushing touchdowns.

Despite his strong strong performance and getting to the endzone four times, it was ultimately not enough to stave off Philadelphia. The Eagles came from behind twice in the game's final two minutes and overtime before sealing a win with a game-winning run by quarterback Jalen Hurts. That came after the Bills managed just a field goal on their first possession in overtime.

After the loss, making it to the postseason will be a tall order for Allen and the Bills. They have fallen to 6-6 on the season and are in 10th place in the crowded AFC.

To this point in 2023, Allen has completed 69.6% of his passes for 2,875 yards with 22 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He also has 53 rushing attempts for 261 yards and seven touchdowns.

Despite the experience he has under his belt, Allen's touchdown-to-interception ratio continues to be a troublesome area. He has thrown an interception in a career-high eight consecutive games and reached another lowlight milestone on Sunday with another overtime loss.

Josh Allen overtime record

Allen currently has a 0-6 record in overtime games. The loss to the Eagles was his second of the 2023 NFL season and sixth over his six years as an NFL starter.

Before Sunday, Allen's most recent loss in overtime was a 22-16 defeat against the Jets at MetLife Stadium during "Monday Night Football" in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL season. It was a poor showing for him, as he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble during the loss.

Prior to that, Allen's Bills suffered a 33-30 loss to the Vikings in November of 2022. Allen finished that game 29-of-43 passing for 330 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was also the team's leading rusher with 84 yards on the ground.

And famously, Allen and the Bills lost a playoff game to the Chiefs in overtime after blowing a three-point lead with 13 seconds left in regulation. Buffalo never saw the ball in the extra period, and that prompted the NFL to change its postseason overtime rules.

Below is a look at Allen's overtime results during his career to date.
