FIFA Women's World Cup schedule 2023: Fixtures, matches and final results for tournament in Australia and New Zealand

The 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand was the first with an expanded 32-team field and 64 matches on the schedule.

The tournament kicked off on July 20, 2023 in Auckland, New Zealand, with the final taking place on August 20 in Sydney, Australia, as Spain beat England 1-0.

Co-hosts Australia and New Zealand split the game action between them to deliver a memorable tournament for all involved.

Women's World Cup 2023 tournament format

The top two teams from each group (A-H) advanced to the knockout stages, which begin with the Round of 16, followed by the quarterfinals, semifinals, the third-place match, and the final.

During the group stage, three points were awarded for a win, one for a draw, and zero for a defeat. The two teams with the greatest number of points in each group qualified for the knockout stage.

If teams were level on points, overall goal difference was the first tiebreaker, followed by total goals scored, if necessary. The third tiebreaker was head-to-head record (list of all group tiebreakers).
