Melbourne Cup race time Queensland: Full schedule, start for Flemington

The running of the historic Melbourne Cup is upon us, with 24 of the best staying horses from around the world set to descend upon Flemington Racecourse.

Gold Trip, Vauban, Soulcombe and Breakup headline the blockbuster field, while there will be nine other races at the track on a jam-packed day of thoroughbred action.

The 2023 edition of the Melbourne Cup is scheduled for a 2:00 pm AEST start (3:00 pm local time).

How many races are on Melbourne Cup day? 

There will be 10 races at Flemington on Tuesday, with the first set to commence at 9:45 am AEST and the last scheduled for 4:15 pm AEST, with at least a 40-minute break in between each.
