One of the most brutal structures in pro wrestling history returns to WWE’s Survivor Series PPV on November 25. WarGames comes to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, in an event that will air on Peacock in the U.S.

Introduced by the National Wrestling Alliance's Jim Crockett Promotions in 1987, WarGames features two teams of four or five wrestlers locked in a large steel cage surrounding two rings.

One member of each team starts the match. After an allotted amount of time, another competitor enters the ring. The only way to win is via pinball or submission once all members of both teams enter the ring.

Dusty Rhodes created the match format and was inspired by the Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome movie.

Dusty’s son Cody competes in the match for the first time. He teams with Seth "Freakin" Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton against The Judgement Day (Damian Priest, Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh) and Drew McIntyre.

Cody attempted to compete in a WarGames-like match in AEW, dubbed Blood & Guts, before the COVID-19 pandemic nixed those plans.

The Judgement Day's Rhea Ripley is also in action, defending the Women's World Title against Zoey Stark. Also on the card, Gunther defends the WWE Intercontinental Title against The Miz.
