Jake Paul returns to the ring to face what could conceivably be his toughest opponent to date when he takes on Andre August at the Caribe Royale Orlando in Florida on December 15. The action will air on DAZN worldwide. 

Having competed almost exclusively against MMA fighters, Paul fought an 8-0 Tommy Fury in February. The former lost the fight, though he was credited with scoring a knockdown against the half-brother of Tyson Fury in the final round.

Paul returned to the ring column by outpointing Nate Diaz in August and looks to close out the year with another victory.

If he beats August, Paul wants recognition as a ranked cruiserweight before fighting for a world title.

However, August is ready to show the world that he isn’t a stepping stone for Paul.

Who is Andre August?

Born in Houston, August has a 10-1-1 record with five wins via knockout. At the amateur level, he was a three-time regional Golden Gloves Champion and a two-time Texas state runner-up.

August turned pro in 2013. The 35-year-old has won five straight after suffering his first defeat in his sixth contest. He last competed in August, beating Brandon Martin, which was his first fight in almost four years. The combined record of his opponents before facing him was 34-65-6, and three were making their professional debut.

"Jake Paul has the money, the fame, the team, and the resources but he doesn’t have my hunger,” said August. “When that bell rings, I am going to go straight to Jake Paul and ring his bell and send him back to YouTube for good.”
