The queen has returned.

After two years away, Simone Biles is back in the mix, competing for shimmering golden medallions amongst a host of the best gymnasts in the country.

Biles marked her official return to elite competition with a bang, breezing past the competition to shroud her neck in flaxen ice during the U.S. Classic. Now comes the next step of her triumph, the U.S. Gymnastics Championships, home of some of the best and brightest athletes in all of sports.

Biles has her work cut out for her. Standing in her way from glory are a number of formidable foes, including Olympic gold medalists Suni Lee and Jade Carey, as well as UCLA star — and another Olympic medalist — Jordan Chiles.

But none of them are Biles. And if the 26-year-old can find her rhythm, it could be a long day for those hoping to bet against Biles' greatness. In many ways, she's just getting started — Paris 2024 is less than a year away.

What events will Simone Biles compete in at U.S. Gymnastics Championships?

Biles looks set to compete on all four apparatus over the course of the weekend and she attempts to claim yet another all-around title. Her chances are looking quite rosy, all things considered — she strung together a dominant showing at the U.S. Classic earlier this month, posting a 59.100 all-around score — a full five points better than second-place finisher Leanne Wong.

Over the course of her glittering career, Biles has been a force in all-around. She famously captured the all-around crown in the 2016 Rio Games. She also has five other all-around world championships to her name, further cementing her status as the greatest gymnast in the sport's history. She'll hope to put that on display once more, this time in San Jose.
