Ahead of the first-ever Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show set to take place on 13 February at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, during the 57th run of the NFL final game, Apple offers a teaser of what's to come with a sneak peek clip of Rihanna who's set to take the stage.

In anticipation of the show, Apple Music presents Rihanna's Road to Halftime playlist. The playlist includes a soundtrack of the singer's hottest hits, plus a recap of 10 of the most iconic and memorable halftime shows in history.

Apple Music subscribers will also have access to 32 playlists, curated by each NFL team, featuring songs most played in locker rooms, during training and on game day.

A number of players, including Travis Kelce, Stefon Diggs and Trevon Diggs, are also sharing their warmup and workout playlist with fans on the music streaming service.

Aside from the playlists to get you pumped for the game, Rihanna will also be sitting down for an interview on 10 February to share her thoughts on what it's like to put together one of the most-watched live musical performances in the world as part of the Super Bowl 57 Halftime press conference. The interview will be aired on Apple Music and streamed on other social media platforms.

The Super Bowl has become one of the most anticipated annual sporting events. Over 90 million people were said to have tuned into the 2022 game, with an even larger number of people, 103 million to be exact, tuning into the halftime show, which starred Rap legends Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J Blige and more.

Super Bowl halftime show didn't evolve into its present form until the 1990s. Top global talents vie for the chance to perform on stage and replaced varsity acts like marching bands and cheerleading squads.

Among the most iconic performances during Super Bowl Halftime include the controversial performance featuring Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and the unfortunate Nipplegate incident in 2004, and Michael Jackson's performance in Pasadena during the 1993 Dallas Cowboys v Buffalo Bills game.

For the past ten years, Pepsi has been the title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime. While the headlining performers don't get paid, the production budget can reach as high as US$18 million, in the case of The Weeknd's US$17 million extravaganza.

Following the decade-long relationship between Pepsi and the Super Bowl, Apple Music is taking on the sponsorship for the first time in history.
