The end of the PFL Playoffs is upon us, with PFL 9 airing on August 23. Lightweights and welterweights now look to secure their spot in the PFL Finals.

PFL 9 takes place in the Hulu Theater in Madison Square Garden in New York. It airs on ESPN+ and FUBO in the U.S. and DAZN in the U.K.

Headlining will be Clay Collard vs. Shane Burgos, a boxer facing a former UFC fighter, in a lightweight semi-final bout.

Collard started in MMA in 2011 and is 2-0 this season, beating Yamato Nishikawa and Stevie Ray to advance. Burgos was 8-3 in the UFC before signing with the PFL. He lost against Olivier Aubin-Mercier in April and beat Nishikawa in June.

"Hurricane" Burgos replaces former PFL champion Natan Schulte, who was removed from the playoffs after the PFL deemed he and Raush Manfio didn't put forth their "best efforts" during their fight against one another.

The co-main event will see last season's lightweight champion Aubin-Mercier face Bruno Miranda. The latter beat Ahmed Amir and Alex Martinez to advance.

In welterweight action, last season's champion Sadibou Sy faces Carlos Leal. The latter lost against Sy in the playoffs in 2022. The other welterweight fight features Magomed Magomedkerimov vs. Solomon Renfro.
